Leather Earrings - SARASA

Leather Earrings - SARASA

鮫小紋ピアス

Sarasa is a dyeing tradition that traveled from India to Japan and was reborn here as stencil dyeing — rich in natural motifs, flowers, birds, and botanical forms drawn from centuries of accumulated pattern. These earrings were inspired by designs from our own collection of antique stencils, applied directly onto leather using the same method as kimono dyeing.

The gold used in this design took considerable time to arrive at — not too bright, not too heavy, but an elegance that holds its warmth quietly. The formula is entirely our own, developed through rounds of trial and testing until the color felt right. The result is a piece that carries the texture of tradition without announcing it.

Pairs beautifully with the matching Sarasa scarf.

Story

Traditional craft can feel like something that belongs behind glass. These earrings were made with the opposite intention — to bring the patterns and techniques that have been passed down for generations into the rhythm of daily life. When you wear a piece rooted in craft, you become part of the tradition of keeping it alive. That feels like reason enough.
