Oak Village

Built to Last 100 Years.

Made from Trees That Already Have.

At Oak Village, we believe a tree that spent 100 years growing deserves to become something that lasts just as long. Founded in 1974 in the mountains of Hida Takayama, Gifu Prefecture, we have worked exclusively with domestic Japanese hardwoods from day one — sustainably sourced, shaped entirely in our own workshop, and finished without paint or chemical coating. What you hold is honest wood, nothing added.

Every piece is hand-sanded and inspected before it leaves our workshop. Because we use real, uncoated wood, no two pieces are ever identical. The grain, color, and weight of each block reflects the tree it came from, and the forest it grew in. That is not a flaw. That is the point.

Oak Village

For every tree we use, we plant one back. Oak Village has carried out reforestation of Japan's broad-leaved forests since our founding — because making things that last means taking care of what they come from.

A gift from Japan's forests, made to be passed down.
