Lucky Maneki Neko (Right paw raised)

Lucky Maneki Neko (Right paw raised)

福まねき猫(右手・白)

This is a 12.5cm tall fuku (lucky) maneki neko.
Traditionally, a Maneki Neko (beckoning cat) with its right paw raised is said to attract wealth, while the left paw raised attracts people. A cat with both paws raised is believed to bring both.
In Japan, Maneki Neko are often placed at entrances to welcome good fortune, prosperity, and customers. They also make charming decorative accents for any living space.

However, Yakushigama Maneki Neko are especially popular because, regardless of the paw position, each piece is believed to invite good health and longevity, under the blessing of Yakushi Nyorai.
All Yakushigama Maneki Neko are supervised by the Maneki Neko Museum and carefully handcrafted one by one by skilled artisans.

Each item is individually hand-painted by artisans. As a result, slight variations in color, shading, or finish may occur during the production process. These differences are part of the unique character of each piece and are not considered defects.

Story

The brand name “Yakushigama” comes from a small shrine dedicated to Yakushi Nyorai (the Buddha of Healing), believed to have been created by the monk Gyoki. This shrine stood on the grounds of Chugai Toen until the late Edo period.

The Maneki Neko, or 'beckoning cat,' is widely known in Japan as a symbol of good fortune and prosperity.
A cat raising its right paw is believed to invite wealth and financial luck, while a cat raising its left paw is said to attract good relationships and meaningful connections.
With its gentle expression and distinctly Japanese charm, the Maneki Neko brings warmth and a peaceful atmosphere into any space.
Simply placing one in an entryway, on a desk, or in a living room can quietly invite a sense of luck and positivity into everyday life.
Enjoy this special piece filled with Japanese culture, meaning, and tradition.
